The secret of 10,000 pieces/hour singulator system

The high-efficiency 10,000 pieces/hour singulator system is based on 3D cameras and depth learning skills to separate, detect and locate parcels accurately. Through high-efficiency control algorithms, the modular belt is planned to separate packages of different volumes and types at specified distance.

High-accuracy 3D cameras

It is made up of several 3D cameras to catch object images from different direction and get 3D photos.

Deep learning visual algorithm

High-accuracy deep learning visual algorithm can locate and identify the target objects accurately.

Self-developed arrangement algorithm

The arrangement algorithm is also call belt modular control algorithm. It maps out the sequence and speed of parcels based on coordinates from contour recognition algorithm.

Effective arrangement

It combines and optimizes high-accuracy deep learn visual algorithm and arrangement algorithm, which improves the processing performance.

Five functional sections

The Singulator system arranges the parcels before they enter an automatic sorter. It separates and sequences chaotic and piling up parcels, making the messy parcels enter the next procedure orderly. The working functions can be divided into five sections: conveying section, dispersing section, separating section, centering section and spacing section. The conveying section is made up of infeed conveyors, which send parcels to the separating system. Dispersing section contains belt part. With different running speeds, parcels are spaced out, which reduces the pressure on separating section. Separating section is made up of cameras and several belt units, which are linked with software of the Singulator system, which reads data and controls the distances between parcels. Then the lined up parcels arrive at centering section, where is a transit before sorting. When parcels pass through spacing section, the distances between parcels are adjusted. At last, the goal of separating the parcels is achieved.

Then how to control the conveying speed effectively, do not let specific parcel “jump the queue” or fall behind? Houng Fuh’s Singulator system applies servo motors to control belt units. Each belt unit is control by independent servo motor,so that parcels can be separated at optimal speed and sequenced orderly.Meanwhile, visual system traces the parcels in real time and provides the relative coordinates. With these parcel position information and conveying speed, control algorithm module performs high-speed operation to calculate optimal speed and route and sends the results to each servo controller. Each servo controller controls a belt unit to separate and reorder parcels and keep them in certain distance.
